Treasurer

The Treasurer of the WBYF Association is responsible for overseeing the financial health, stability, and transparency of the program. This role ensures that all financial processes are handled accurately and responsibly, supporting the board in making informed decisions and helping maintain the long-term sustainability of the organization. The Treasurer provides clear financial guidance, manages day-to-day transactions, and ensures that all funds are used in alignment with WBYF’s mission and policies.

The Treasurer manages the association’s budget, tracks income and expenses, and maintains accurate financial records throughout the year. They handle payments, deposits, reimbursements, and vendor transactions, ensuring that all financial activity is documented and compliant with organizational and league requirements. The Treasurer prepares regular financial updates for the board, offering clear summaries that help board members understand the program’s financial position and make responsible decisions about spending, fundraising, and future planning. A key part of the Treasurer’s role is supporting program operations that involve money flow, such as registration fees, equipment purchases, concessions revenue, and team party funds. They work closely with board members who oversee these areas to ensure funds are tracked correctly and distributed appropriately. The Treasurer also helps maintain transparency by ensuring that financial processes are easy for volunteers to follow and that families understand how program funds are used.

As one of the elected Officers of the Association, the Treasurer serves on the Executive Committee, helping address routine or time-sensitive matters between regular Board meetings when convening the full Board is impractical. The Treasurer also participates in the Finance Committee, working alongside the President and Vice President to provide oversight of the Association’s financial affairs. In addition, the Treasurer serves on the Rules Committee, Property Committee, and Communications Committee, contributing financial insight and supporting consistent, mission-aligned decisionmaking across program operations.

In addition to their Executive Committee role, the Treasurer is a core member of the Finance Committee, working alongside the President and Vice President to provide oversight of the Association’s financial affairs. Through this committee, the Treasurer helps guide budgeting practices, evaluate financial risks, and ensure that fundraising, sponsorship, and operational spending align with WBYF’s long-term goals. Their committee work strengthens financial accountability across the organization and supports consistent, mission-aligned decision-making. The Treasurer collaborates with the President, Vice President, and other board members to plan for future needs, evaluate financial risks, and support long-term program goals. They help ensure that WBYF remains financially stable, compliant, and prepared for both expected and unexpected expenses. Their work provides the foundation that allows the program to operate smoothly, invest in improvements, and continue offering a positive experience for players and families.
