The President of the WBYF Association serves as the overall leader of the organization, guiding the board, supporting volunteers, and ensuring the program operates smoothly, transparently, and in alignment with its mission. This role provides direction for the entire association, helping set priorities, maintain consistency across all grade levels, and create a positive experience for players, families, and coaches.

The President oversees the work of the board by facilitating communication, coordinating responsibilities, and ensuring each board member has the support they need to carry out their role effectively. They help establish clear expectations, maintain accountability, and foster a collaborative environment where board members, coaches, and volunteers feel valued and informed. When questions or concerns arise within the program, the President helps guide them to the appropriate board member or committee, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and professionally.

A key part of the President’s role is representing WBYF in all official capacities. This includes leading board meetings, communicating program-wide updates, and serving as the primary point of contact for external partners such as the school district, league officials, and community organizations. The President helps ensure that WBYF remains compliant with league rules, safety standards, and organizational policies, while also advocating for the needs of the program and its families.

The President provides leadership and alignment across all standing committees of the Association. This includes guiding the Rules Committee in maintaining league rules, coaching standards, and player-development expectations; supporting the Finance Committee in responsible budgeting, transparent reporting, and long-term financial planning; and working with the Property Committee to ensure equipment, uniforms, and fields are safe, well-maintained, and operationally ready. The President also helps oversee the Communications Committee, ensuring accurate records, clear messaging, and strong relationships with community partners. In addition, the President leads the Code of Conduct Committee, supporting consistent expectations, fair review processes, and a safe, respectful environment for all participants. Through the Coach Selection Committee, the President helps ensure that coaching candidates are evaluated fairly and selected in alignment with the program’s mission and developmental philosophy. The President may also establish or support additional committees as needed to strengthen program operations.

The President works closely with the Coaching Director to support coaches, reinforce program values, and help maintain consistency in coaching expectations and player development. They also collaborate with operational roles—such as Communications, Team Operations, Equipment, and Finance—to ensure that all aspects of the program are aligned and functioning effectively.

In addition to leadership and oversight, the President plays a central role in long-term planning. They help evaluate what is working well, identify areas for improvement, and guide discussions about future needs, growth, and program enhancements. Their leadership helps ensure that WBYF remains organized, sustainable, and focused on providing a safe, positive, and development-focused football experience for all participants. Overall, the President of WBYF provides steady leadership, clear communication, and a program-wide perspective that keeps the organization moving forward. Their work supports every level of the program—from board members and coaches to players and families—and helps create a strong, unified foundation for the entire association.
