The Social Media Director plays an essential role in shaping how WBYF communicates with families, the community, and prospective participants. Through clear communication, timely updates, and thoughtful content, the Social Media Director helps strengthen community engagement and build excitement around WBYF activities.

The Social Media Director manages the association’s social media platforms, ensuring that information shared is accurate, consistent, and aligned with the program’s mission. They create and post content that highlights important dates, program announcements, registration reminders, game-day updates, volunteer needs, and celebrations of player and team accomplishments. Their work helps families stay informed and fosters a sense of pride and connection within the WBYF community.

A key part of this role involves coordinating with other board members to ensure messaging is timely and accurate. The Social Media Director works closely with the Communications team, Team Operations, Coaches Director, and event coordinators to gather information and translate it into clear, parent-friendly posts. They help ensure that families receive the right information at the right time, reducing confusion and improving the overall communication flow of the program.

The Social Media Director also helps maintain the tone and professionalism of WBYF’s public presence. They ensure that posts reflect the program’s values, promote sportsmanship, and create a welcoming environment for all families. When questions or comments come through social channels, the Social Media Director helps direct them to the appropriate board member or resource, ensuring that families receive accurate and helpful responses.
